How do I remove a user?

Summary

The following article explains How to remove a user from your Platinum system.

PLEASE NOTE: It is important to make sure the user has been de-activated for at least 6 months before they are removed from the system entirely (See knowledge base article [here] on how to deactivate a user). The reason for this is the user will have their name stamped against history within the system (sales etc) and if their user is removed the history will remain on the system but you would not know how created that history as the username would be blank. By leaving it a while before deletion this makes sure any problems that may occur are rectified before deletion.

Details

To deactivate a user get into "Reports & Parameters" -> "Maintenance Options" -> "System Administrator" -> "User Maintenance".

This defaults to your user account:.

  • On the "User ID" type in the user code of the user you wish to deactivate or search for their User ID by pressing <Ctrl+F1>.
  • Press <F10> to delete them.
  • Click [Yes] to confirm the change.
