Summary
The Catalyst Web Daemon is an application for your Platinum System that powers Platinum Email, live eCommerce enquiries, third party EPC support and Platinum Online.

Installation
- It is highly recommended that the Web Daemon is installed on your Platinum server.
- Locate the installation package, 'setupwebdaemon.exe' downloaded as per the above instructions.
- Right click on the installer and select Run as administrator.
- Follow the steps through the Setup Wizard to install the Web Daemon.
- You will be asked for the location of the Platinum communication folder. The wizard should detect this automatically else navigate to your network Platinum location. You should then select the Browser folder which should be located within your main company data folder e.g. 'P:\SX\SXCo1\Browser'. This may differ if you are using a different network drive and/or company structure.

- Click [Next] to continue.
- Enter the Windows "User name" and "Password" for a user which has administrative rights on your network.
 | If your network is on a domain you will need to supply the domain name along with the username e.g. Domain\username. |
- Click [Next] to continue.
- In order to be able to send emails from your Platinum system you should enter your Mail server e.g.'SMTP.yourdomain.com' along with any additional authentication credentials required per the fields on screen.

- Click [Install].
- The Catalyst Web Daemon will now be installed as a Windows service.
| If you are using the Platinum Backup Program to backup your data it will automatically stop the service to perform the backup. If you choose to schedule a different backup program you may need to temporarily stop the Web Daemon Service whilst your backup runs. If so you are advised to restart it once your backup is complete. While the service is running the Web Daemon will actively be processing files in Platinum and these may be locked so preventing them from being backed up. |
