How do I control account security on my ecommerce website?

Account Security

This will take you to Platinum Online.

  • Click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the page to open the menu, or swipe from left to right if you are using a mobile device or tablet, and go to " Administration eCommerce Manage Account Levels".

Select the level of account you want to view or amend from the list (see How do I set up account levels on my ecommerce website?) and then for each of the following settings, choose whether this level of account...:

  • "Account Details": can change their account details (name, address, phone, etc.).
  • "Delivery Address": can specify a delivery address when placing an order.
  • "Order Reference": can specify an order reference/"your ref" when placing an order.
  • "Order Notes": can specify order notes/special instructions when placing an order.
  • "Add to Basket": can add items to the basket and place an order.
  • "PayPal Payment": must pay when placing an order.

Account Registration

You can choose whether new customers can register an account on your website or that they should be blocked.

Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options Platinum O and Catalyst FindIt".

  • Click " Online Control Panel".
  • Click Manage " Content".
  • Click [Edit] next to "Store Registered customers only".
  • To block new customers from registering an account:
    • Enter a message to show when a non-registered customer views your website, such as
      Please log in to use our website. Click the reset password link above if you do not know your password.
    • Click [Update].
  • To allow non-registered customers to browse your website and allow them to register their own accounts:
    • Click [Default] then [Update].
