Summary

This article explains how to change the labour rates for each of the technicians that appear in the workshop

More Information

Finding the Technician

Get into to " Workshop Maintenance Options Technicians Labour Rates Add or Edit Labour Codes".

  • Press [List] to list all the technicians.
  • Highlight the one you want to change the labour rates for and press [Edit].

Editing a Labour Rate

  • Click on the "Labour Rates" tab.
  • Find the rate you want to change and then at "Retail" enter the new retail price.
You will need to repeat this across all technicians if the rate has increased globally.

Create/Edit Labour Rates

On the "Labour Rates" tab:

  • Move down to the next free line and enter the "Description" e.g. Warranty.
    • If you have filled all 10 lines you may click [Add].
    • Press <Ctrl+F1> then click [List].
    • Identify the next spare slot and click [Add].
    • Enter that number e.g. '011' and then a description for the rate then click [Done] and [Accept].
  • At "Cost": If you enter a cost here it can be used for profit reporting on labour but take care to consider the value per technician to avoid issues with salary comparisons! You may leave this set to zero.
  • At "Retail", enter the standard nett price you want to charge for this rate; per unit of labour usually per hour.
  • At "Centre", leave this blank unless you want the revenue for this rate split out separately on the profit and loss from the standard workshop labour centre. Please consult your accounts department before amending this field.
  • Leave the "V.A.T." field set to '0 - None' to use the system/customer default VAT rates. If this rate is always exempt e.g. MOT's which are not sub-contracted out then charged at a higher rate, you may default the rate to VAT Rate 3.
  • The default "Category" for all labour is 'LAB' so you do not need to specify a category. If this rate is for Fitting Accessories you should set this to 'LAC' - see How do I log labour for fitting extras as an expense?.
  • When you have completed the changes click [Done] and <Accept>.
