How do I set up Internet Explorer to show stock details in YPEC?

This article will explain how to setup Internet Explorer to show stock details in Yamaha Parts Electronic Catalogue (YPEC).

More Information

In order to configure Internet Explorer to to show stock details from Platinum you will need to:

  • Make sure that you have Internet Explorer Version 5.5 or higher

  • Make sure you have downloaded flash player to your PC.
    • Click here for more details.
  1. Load up Internet Explorer and go to the YPEC website.
  2. Log into the YPEC.
  3. Then go to " Tools Internet Options".
  4. On the [General] tab click on [Settings] which is located in the "Browsing history" section.
    • Make sure "Check for newer versions of stored pages:", is set to 'Automatically'.
    • Make sure that the "Disk space to use" is set to at least '296'MB.
    • Click [OK] when done.
  5. Click on the [Security].
    1. With "Internet" highlighted, click on the [Custom level...] button.
      • Make sure that "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" is 'Enabled'.
      • Click [OK] when done.
    2. Click on "Trusted sites", then click on [Sites].
  6. Click on the [Advanced] tab.
    • Go to "HTTP 1.1 settings".
      • Make sure that "Use HTTP 1.1" is "enabled".
      • Make sure that "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections" is 'Enabled'.
    • Click [OK] when done.

Now close down Internet Explorer and reopen it and log back into the YPEC and if you view the parts information it should also have the DMS stock lookup working, which means you can see what stock you have in Platinum.

This article details the settings for Internet Explorer only, as Yamaha has stated that the YPEC was written for Internet Explorer. This does not mean that the YPEC will not work with other types of browsers only that it will not be supported by Yamaha.
