Creating a Report

These instructions will guide you through creating a simple unit stock list.

Go to " Unit Sales Unit Reports Unit Sales Report Generator".

  • Add a new report

Follow the sections below in order:

Sort Order

See How do I create a report sort order? to understand the fields here. The variables that you will need are :

'V10' - Current Unit Status
    • Press <Shift+F3>. You will see 'Group 1' appear under the "Group" column to the right of the screen.
This will allow you to group your units together and provide a total number of units per status, i.e. 'In Stock', 'Demonstrators' etc.
'V02' - Manufacturer Code to list units in 'Manufacturer' order.
'V62' - Unit Stock Number.

Press <Esc> to return the report menu.

Range Filter (1)

See How do I enter a report range? to understand the fields here. The variables that you will need are :

'V02'- Manufacturer Code.
    • Press <Shift+F8>. You will see an asterix appear alongside the "V02" variable.
    • Press <F8>.
    • Change 'Blank means All?' to 'Y'.
  • Press <Esc> to return to the [Range Filter] screen.
When running the report this will allow you to specify either a single Manufacturer or leave the field blank to include all manufacturers.
'V16' - New Unit?.
    • Press <Enter> twice to move across to the "Limit/Comparison" column.
    • Enter 'N'.
  • Press <F3> to move down to Page 5 [Range Filter (2)].

Range Filter (2)

'V10' - Current Unit Status Code.
    • Enter 'STO' - In Stock in the "Limit/Comparison" column.
    • Enter 'O' in the "AND/OR" column.
'V10' - Current Unit Status Code.
    • Enter 'DEM' - Demonstrator in the "Limit/Comparison" column.
    • Enter 'O' in the "AND/OR" column.

Repeat these steps to specify all possible Unit Status codes you wish to include in the report.

Whilst in the "Limit/Comparison" column you may press <Ctrl+F1> to select from a list of Unit Status codes.

Press <Esc> to return the report menu.

The variables that you will need are :

'V62' - Unit Stock Number.
'V01' - Unit Description.
'V07' - Unit Registration.
'V12' - First Registered.
    • Enter 'T' in the "Options" and press <Enter>. This informs the report that you wish the date to be printed in text format i.e. '01/07/2017'.
  • Press <Esc> twice to return to the report menu.

Presentation

You may wish to make the report more presentable, e.g. add a heading and total number of units in each section.

  • From the report menu, select [Sort Order].
  • On Row 1 press <F5>
  • Press <F2> to create column 1.
    • Move down to "Column Type" and enter 'Q'.
    • Press <Enter> and type a suitable heading e.g. 'Status:'.
    • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the column.
  • Press <F2> to create column 2.
    • Move down to "File Var." and enter 'V11' - Current Unit Status Description.
    • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the column.
  • Press <Esc>
  • On Row 1 press <Shift+F5>
  • Press <F2> to create column 1.
    • Move down to "Column Type" and enter 'Q'.
    • Press <Enter> and type a suitable heading e.g. 'Total:'.
    • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the column.
  • Press <F2> to create column 2.
    • Move down to "File Var." and enter 'G01' - Group 1.
    • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the column.
  • Press <Esc>

Output Options

Specify how you wish to output the report.

Saving the Report

When you have completed your report click [Finish Editing] and click [Accept].
