Summary
This article explains how to inform your Platinum system that you wish to submit VAT returns via HMRC's Making Tax Digital service.
More Information
You must register for Making Tax Digital with HMRC.
Please see the www.gov.uk HMRC website for further advice on how to register or speak to your accountant.
Once registered you wil receive confirmation from HMRC. This may take up to 72 hours.

| Once your registration has been acknowledged by HMRC, you MUST follow the advice in this article. If you fail to do so and subsequently make a VAT submission through Platinum, it will be submitted but will not be accepted through the new pathway by HMRC. They will not notify you of this situation and your VAT submission will not be counted. |
Switching on the service
Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Platinum Settings".
- In the Search on field, enter 'Registered' and press <Enter>.
- This will now show you the setting "Registered for Making Tax Digital".
- Click on the field and click [Edit].
- Select 'Yes' from the drop down option.
- Click[OK]
You must also have the system setting "Check updates automatically" set to 'Yes'.
- In the Search on field, enter 'updates'.
- Set the "Check updates automatically" flag to 'Yes' if it isn't already set.
- Click [OK] and click [Done].
- Click [Accept] to confirm the changes.
