The following article explains how to set your Government Gateway ID and Password so that you can submit your V.A.T. returns and Payroll information online.

== More Information ==
Go to {{PlatinumSettings}} and search for {{DataValue|Government}}.
* Select {{DataPrompt|User ID}} and click {{Button|Edit}}.
** Enter your supplied User ID then click {{Button|OK}}.
*Select {{DataPrompt|Password}} and click {{Button|Edit}}.

{{Note|text=Your {{DataPrompt|Password}} should be between 8 and 12 characters. If it is shorter or longer, you may find that any online pre-MTD VAT submissions will fail with invalid credentials.}}

** Enter your supplied Gateway Password and repeat it in the {{DataPrompt|Confirm}} box.
** Click {{Button|OK}}.
* Click {{Button|Done}} and {{Button|Accept}} to save the changes you have made.

If you want to file V.A.T. Returns online directly from Platinum, you will need to enter your V.A.T. Registration Number.

Go to {{PlatinumSettings}} and search for {{DataValue|Registration}}.
* Select {{DataPrompt|V.A.T. registration number}} and click {{Button|Edit}}.
** Enter your V.A.T. Registration Number then click {{Button|OK}}.
* Enter your V.A.T. number.
* Click {{Button|Done}} and {{Button|Accept}} to save the changes you have made.
