Summary
To be able to add Labour to a workshop job.
Additional Information
To add labour directly to a workshop job, go to "Workshop Management" -> "Workshop Diary". Either search for a job via <C+F1> and click [Edit] or Create a new job.
- When you want to add labour to a workshop job, press <F6>.
- This will take you into the Job Details screen, where you may see two things: either a prompt will ask if you want create job items, create order items or retrieve a sales order; or a list of items already booked to the job will be shown.
- If you get the prompt to create items/orders/retrieve then click on [Items] to add labour to the workshop job.
- If you have a list of items already booked to the job, press <F6> to add items.
- This will take you to the Job line detail amendments screen, where we can add labour to the workshop job.
Adding labour to a Job
Selecting Technician
- The system highlights "Stock Code". Here press <F2>.
- This will take you to the "Labour Rate Search" screen.
- The system highlights "Labour Code". Either enter the technicians labour code, cycle through the labour codes or search for a labour code.

- Once the Labour has been selected, press <Enter>to select the labour rate.
- Press <Arrow Down> to go to the correct labour rate type and pricing.
- Press <F2> to select the correct method.
Adding Labour Details
This will take you to the "Job line Detail Amendments" screen.
- Press <Arrow Up> to "Description", delete the technicians name, and replace it with a description of what the labour was used for.
- Once complete, press <Arrow Down> to "Job Hours". enter the quantity of hours to be charged to the customer. Fractions of hours can be used and you can choose whether this is shown on the Invoice.
- Press <Arrow Right> to "Actual Hours". Enter the actual amount of hours the technician used. Fractions of hours can be used, this is not shown on the Invoice, and is used for Reporting purposes only.
Every other field that is on the screen is best left set to what is automatically brought up via the System default. |
Once satisfied with the information added, press <Esc> where a prompt will ask "Do you want to accept or ignore any changes made?"
- Click [Accept] to add the Labour to the workshop job.
- This will take you back to "Stock Code". From here you can add a part or more Labour to the workshop job.
- Continue in this fashion until all Labour for the Job has been entered. Once done, press <Esc>.
- This will take you back to the "Job details" screen where all the Labour that have been added will be listed.
Review
Review the Labour list. If any Labour needs adjusting, press <arrow> to the relevant line of the Labour.
- Press <F5> to edit that Labour.
- Press <F10> to delete the Labour from the workshop job.
- Press <Esc> once happy with the Labour. This will take you back to the "Workshop Job Properties" screen.
- Press <Esc> will save the Labour to the workshop Job.
