Summary

The ability to add vehicle stock to the system to then either upload to the findit website, link to the dealer edit system or just have on the database ready to be sold out to a customer.

Additional Information

Go to "Vehicle Sales" -> "Add or Edit Vehicles".

  • Press <F2> to get the next available stock code (Automatically Generated number).
  • Set the "New?" flag to 'Y'.
  • If your system has been set up with HPI lookup enter the vehicle Registration number and click [Look Up].
    • The system will then contact HPI and fill in all the vehicle information including Make, Model, Description, V.I.N., Chassis Number, Engine Number, Engine size and much more... The HPI system will automatically create the vehicle models if they do not exist already in the system.
    • If your system is without HPI, you will need to add this information manually, see below!
  • Type in the Model of the vehicle. If the model exist this will appear, filling in the Make, Model and Description. If however the model does not appear you will have to create the model.

Purchase

  • Click on the Purchase Tab.
  • The Supplier will automatically be filled in, but you will need to enter the purchase amount, date and any other charges in the relevant fields.

Features

  • Click on Features Tab.
  • Select the Vehicle Type, this will then show only the features that are relevant to that vehicle.
  • Double click on any features you wish to add.

Web Publishing

This tab records where this vehicle is to be listed on the web.

  • Click on Web Publishing Tab.
  • Click on the "Catalyst Findit" box. To enable the vehicle to be displayed on FindIt Website.
  • Click on the any of the other boxes, if you wish for the vehicle to be linked to the corresponding website.
The Catalyst FindIt checkbox is automatically 'ticked' for all vehicles entered.

Pictures

  • Click on Pictures Tab.
  • Click on [Add] to select the location of the stored pictures for the vehicle that you are currently adding into Platinum. The first picture that you add will be the default picture, you can add multiple pictures to the vehicle record, and select any of these picture to be the default picture which will always be shown against the vehicle.

Press <Esc> and [Accept] to save the vehicle record.
