Summary

The ability to order parts specifically for a workshop job, that are currently not in stock or are never stocked.

Additional Information

To order parts to a workshop job, go to "Workshop Management" -> "Workshop Diary". Either search for a job using <Ctrl+F1> and click [Edit] or click [Add] to Create a new job.

New Workshop Job

  • To add parts to be ordered for a workshop job, press <F6>. * This will take you into the "Job Details" screen, where a prompt will ask if you want create job items, create order items or retrieve a sales order. (If this is the first item to be entered.)
  • Click on [Order] to add order parts to the Workshop Job.
  • This will take you to the "Job line detail amendments" screen, where we can add parts to workshop job.

Existing Workshop Job

  • To add parts to be ordered for a workshop job, press <F6>.
  • This will take you into the "Job Details" screen. There will be a list of parts already listed.
  • Click on [Back Order] button on the bottom of the screen or press <Shift+F3>.
  • This will take you to the "Job line detail amendments" screen, where we can add parts to workshop job.
The "Job line detail amendments" screen Mode will be set to Order.

Adding Parts to be ordered

It is on the "Job line detail amendments" screen where you add the parts to be ordered for a job. This is done in the same fashion as adding normal Stock items to a job. For any further assistance on how to do this please read How do I add Parts to a Workshop Job?, which will take you through field by field on how to add parts to a Workshop job.

  • Once a part and Quantity has been assigned to be ordered press <Esc>. The part will now be ordered.

Review

  • Review the parts list. If any parts need adjusting, press <Down Arrow> to the relevant line.
  • Press <F5> to edit that part.
  • Press <F10> to delete the part from the workshop job. This puts the part back into stock.
  • Press <Esc> once happy with the list of parts. This will take you back to the "Workshop Job Properties" screen.
  • Press <Esc> will save the parts to the workshop Job.

Checking Ordered Part

To check that the Stock item have been set to be ordered you will need to run a stock enquiry.
