More Information
Nominal Centres are used in various places throughout Platinum.
- Your Sales and Purchase Centres are linked to Nominal Centres to define where they sit in your Profit & Loss or Balance Sheet. When running a Month End the figures from your Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger will be transferred to your Nominal Ledger.
- Payment centres are Nominal Centres e.g. 'Z992' Current Bank Account.
- You will also need to journal some items directly into your Nominal Ledger for example Wages and Banking.
In the following example, searching for a Cost Centre is going to be performed in Journal Entries - Cashbook Entry.
- In the "Centre" field press <Ctrl+F1>.
- At the Nominal Centre Search dialogue box, in the "Filter On" field, type a description of the centre you are looking for; e.g. "Bank" or "Wages" and click [Search].
- Select the relevant centre and click [Choose].
- If the Nominal Centre you want doesn't exist then you can create it following this link How do I Create a Nominal Code?
