How do I auto-fill service or MOT dates?
Contents
Summary
It is possible for Platinum automatically to enter the next service or MOT date on the required unit record from the Workshop without having to enter the unit record itself.
More Information
When creating a job through the workshop diary system, if you type the word 'SERVICE' or 'MOT' in the first line of the "Description" in the "Job Details" area, the system will work out an MOT date or an estimated service due date based on a number of settings and fill this in on the "Service" tab on the unit record when you invoice the job.
The "Update service information" setting in " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Platinum Settings" must be set to 'Yes' to allow the system to update these fields. |
MOT Due Dates
The estimated due date for the MOT will be '12' months from the invoice date - you may need to override this if the customer has brought the unit in early or late - while the estimated service due date will be at an interval determined by the following settings.
Service Intervals
The service intervals can be calculated by the customer's use of the unit if you have had the unit in the workshop more than once, by the individual unit, by the model, by the manufacturer or if none of these apply, by a system default. The settings will be checked in the order listed.
Updating Information
When invoicing the jobcard, the service information box will appear showing the last and next service date, service interval details and MOT Due date. The user may override this e.g. if the customer would prefer a shorter service interval.
