Creating Multiple Locations
You may create a range of locations to select from when locating a stock code. Use this option with caution as it can be quite powerful!
- Go to " Stock Control Maintenance Options Add or Edit Stock Locations".
- Click {[Multiple] or press <Shift+F6>.
- Use the "Section" option to set your parameters. The parameters you use will depend on the locations you wish to create. The example below can be used as a guide.
For example: to create a range of locations starting with the phrase 'Rack' such as RACK01, RACK02, RACK03 etc.
- At "Section 1" use the drop down to select 'Fixed Text'.
- Enter the phrase 'RACK' in the "Fixed Text" field.
- At "Section 2" use the drop down to select 'Numeric Sequence'.
- At "Seq. length" enter '2' to allow for numbering of up to 2 decimal places.
- At "Seq. count" enter '20' to create 20 locations.
- Click [Start] to create your locations.
- This will create 20 locations from RACK01 to RACK20.
Prior to exiting the screen, if you find you have made a mistake you may click [Undo] at the top of the screen and it will remove the locations created in this instance. |
