Summary

This article explains how to create standard messages that can be sent out from Platinum.

More Information

Platinum can store standard messages that can be retrieved and sent out to customers, saving you from having to type out the same message every time. These can either by SMS messages or Emails. Platinum can also create dynamic messages that include personalised details such as customer or unit information.

Create a Standard SMS Message

  • Go to " Messages SMS Messaging Manage Messages" at the top of the Platinum screen.
  • Click [Add] to create a new standard message.
  • In the "Description" field enter a suitable description for the standard message.
  • In the "From" field enter your company name. This will appear on the recipients phone when they receive this message. If you leave this field blank it will use the default sender name from your print record. Alternatively you can enter a mobile number which the recipient will be able to reply to when they receive the message.
  • In the "Message" field enter the message to be sent out.
A Standard SMS Message is '160' Characters long, so if the message you wish to send is more than '160' characters the system will use more than one message credit to send the required text. A warning will appear in the bottom left of the messaging box once the message goes over this number of characters and tells you how many characters your message is using, thus allowing you to trim the message down if required.
  • Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the standard message.

Create a Standard Email Message

  • Go to " Messages Email Manage Messages" at the top of the Platinum screen.
  • Click [Add] to create a new standard message.
  • In the "Description" field enter a suitable description for the standard message.
  • In the "From" field enter your e-mail address. This will be the address that recipients will see on the email and be able to reply to.
  • In the "Subject" field enter a suitable subject for the email.
  • If you want to include a Header image click on the drop down next to "Top image" and select the correct one from the list.
    • Alternatively to add a new image click on the [...] button to manage your online images and then click [Add] to browse for an image on your PC.
  • If you want to include a Footer image click on the drop down next to "Bottom" and select the correct one from the list.
Platinum O- You will need a Platinum O account to allow our server to host your email images for this feature to function. Contact your Platinum dealer or our sales team on 0116 230 1500 or by using our website sales contact page for further details.
  • In the "Message" field enter the message to be sent out. This field can either contain basic text or you can use HTML to help improve the layout and look of the email.
  • Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the standard message.
