Summary

There is an option within Platinum to have the ability to rename a "Stock Code" after it has been created.

More Information

Renaming

Go to " Stock Control Add or Edit Stock Items" and search for the stock code you wish to rename.

  • Click [Edit] on the stock item you want to re-name
  • You will find your cursor in the "Description" field.
  • Click back onto the "Stock Number" which is at the top of your screen.
  • Press <F9>.
  • From "New Stock Code:" enter your new stock code for this item.
  • Enter in your new stock code and press <Enter> and click [Yes].
  • Once the renaming has completed, press <Esc> to exit.
The system will only have the rename option from " Stock Control Add or Edit Stock Items". You cannot rename a stock code from anywhere else within the system.

Merging

  • If you select an existing stock code for the rename you will be asked to confirm that you want to merge the two stock codes (Depot quantities, prices and history will all be merged. Any existing prices will NOT be overwritten).
