Summary

This article will explain how to uninstall the Platinum Data Manager service. This service is known as CDMS. This should only be done if you are no longer using the Platinum program and ideally done by an IT technician.

More Information

First you will need to stop the service. To do this, go to the Services option on the computer on which CDMS was installed. This is likely to be the server machine for Platinum.

Finding the Services list can be different depending on the operating system of the computer.

  • Open Task Manager and choose the [Service] tab.
  • CDMS will appear in the services with the name "CDM Server" or "CDMS".
  • [Right mouse] click on the CDMS service and choose the Stop option.
  • Open a command prompt and navigate to the 'SX\SXUTILS' folder. This will be found in the network drive on which Platinum was installed.
  • Type CDMS -U or SC DELETE CDMS and press <Enter>.

This will delete the service. You should now delete the CDM.ini file, and then reboot the computer to finish uninstalling the service.
