Summary

This article explains how to create your own formula to calculate Maximum and Reorder Levels. These formula can be applied when running the Reorder Report in Stock Control.

More Information

When ordering stock, the system can calculate Maximum and Reorder levels and use the results to calculate the quantity to order. If no formula is specified, the system will use the Stock Optimisation settings to calculate Maximum and Reorder levels.

In some instances, you may prefer to write your own formula. The following instructions explain how to do this.

Go to " Stock Control Maintenance Options Formula Calculation".

  • In "Formula Code", type in a code for the new formula and press <Enter>.
  • In "Description", give your new formula a suitable description and then press <Enter>.
  • Enter your "Formula". The possible characters and expressions available can be found by pressing <F11>.
This formula '(M1:4/4)' could be used to set Maximum levels. It would look at the last 4 months sales and divide by 4. The Maximum level would then be set to ensure you order enough to meet the average sales per month.
  • Once you have written your new formula, click [Done] and [Accept] to save.
