Summary
This article explains how to add notes to a Workshop Job using Platinum Online.
More Information
- Select the Platinum Online Icon from your Home screen.
- Enter your 'Online ID' and 'Password' log in details.
To check/set up your Platinum Online log in details, click here |
- Go to " Workshop Technician Activity".
- All Jobs your system is configured to display will be listed on screen.
- Select the Job you wish to add a note to.
- Find the " Job Status" section.
- Type your text and select [Submit].
Periodically your device will synchronise with your live Platinum system. At this point the notes will be added to the Job into the [Description] tab. |
Setting a Job Status
The Status of a Job can be altered within the " Job Status" section.
- Click the relevant button e.g. [Problem] or [Ready to invoice].
- The job will be updated with the status.
Customise Job Status Settings
You will need to customise the settings prior to using the job status buttons.
- Within desktop Platinum go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Platinum Settings" - select "Module" - 'Workshop'.
- Search for 'status'.
- Edit "Remote job alert status"
- Click <Ctrl+F1> to search for an appropriate status.
If a status doesn't exist then you can click [Add] to create a new status. Use a 3 character code and a suitable description. Set a "Background" colour then click [Done] and [Accept]. |
- Click [Done]
- Edit "Ready to invoice status"
- Click <Ctrl+F1> to search for an appropriate status.
- Click [Done].
- Save the settings by clicking [Done] and [Accept].
You should log out of, and back into, Platinum Online to apply the changes.
Synchronising Platinum Online
Platinum Online will use your internet connection periodically to update your Workshop system. To force the system to refresh and update:
- Go to the [Technician Activity] screen.
- Select [Refresh].
Log Out
At the end of each day you should log out of Platinum Online.
- Select the 3 bars () to the left of [Technician Activity].
- Select [Logout].
