Summary

To be able to add a parts on a workshop job.

Additional Information

To add parts to a workshop job, go to "Workshop Management" -> "Workshop Diary". Either search for a job via <Ctrl+F1> and click [Edit] or Create a new job.

  • When ready to add Parts to a workshop job press <F6>.
  • This will take you into the "Job Details" screen, where a prompt will ask if you want create job items, create order items or retrieve a sales order.
  • Click on [Items] to add parts to the Workshop Job.
  • This will take you to the "Job line detail amendments" screen, where we can add parts to workshop job.

Adding Parts to a Job

  • At "Stock code:". Enter in the part stock code in here. If unsure of the stock code press <Ctrl+F1> to search on the part number.
  • Once a valid stock code has been entered the following fields will automatically be filled in however you can change these as you go.
    • The "Description:" will be filled in. You can if you choose over type the description.
    • The "Category:" will be filled in. Or you can enter a different item category. This must be a valid category.
    • The "Unit Retail:" will be filled in. Or you can enter in a different retail price for one unit. Totals and discount will automatically be calculated.
    • The "Cost Price:" will be filled in. It is possible to alter this amount but it is best left as is.
    • The "Quantity:" will be set as one. It is here where you enter the quantity of units to be used. A fraction of quantities can be used if the item is calculated by weight or Volume.
    • The "Discount:" will be set to 0% or the system will use a pre-defined account/price matrix which is set-up in the stock system. You can enter a different discount rate for the item if any.
Every other field that is on the screen is best left set to what is automatically brought up.

Once satisfied with the information added, press <Esc> where a prompt will ask "Do you want to accept or ignore any changes made?"

  • Click [Accept] to add the part to the workshop job.
  • This will take you back to "Stock Code". Where you can then add the next part to the workshop job.
  • Continue in this fashion till all parts are on the job that is required. Once done press <Esc>.
  • This will take you back to the "Job details" screen where all the parts that have been added will be listed.

Review

Review the parts list. If any parts need adjusting, press <arrow> to the relevant line of the part.

  • Press <F5> to edit that part.
  • Press <F10> to delete the part of from the workshop job.
  • Press <Esc> once happy with the list of parts. This will take you back to the "Workshop Job Properties" screen.
  • Press <Esc> will save the parts to the workshop Job.
