Summary

The following article explains how to make an employee a company director in Payroll.

Go to " Payroll Payroll Parameters/Maintenance Employee Amendments".

  • In the "Employee:" enter the employee code you need to amend, or press <Ctrl-F1> to search for it.
  • Press <Enter>.
  • Press <Page-Down> to Page 2.
  • Cursor down to the "Company Director" and change the parameter from 'N' to 'Y'
  • In the "Date Appointed:" field, enter the date on which the employee was appointed a director.
  • Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the details.
Note: The effect of changing this flag will be to change the way that both Employees and Employers National Insurance is calculated for this employee. Instead of being calculated on the current period gross pay, it is calculated on an annual basis in a similar fashion to Income Tax.
