How do I configure a USB barcode scanner for workshop use?

Summary

The defaults for the Metrologic barcode scanners we sell are set only to allow barcodes with a minimum length of 3 characters. A number of Labour codes are 2 characters in length (the technician's initials) so Real-Time Labour Code labels do not scan.
