Summary

The following article explains how to convert a prospect into an account

More Information

In Platinum, sales prospect information (name, address and telephone number etc) is stored against a prospect code. Contact details, interests and other relevant information are then stored against this for reference. In order for you to raise invoices the prospect must be converted into an account first.

Converting from the prospect

  • Go to " Sales Prospecting Add or Edit Prospects"
  • In the "Search on" field enter type in part of the name you wish to search for (e.g. 'Bloggs' for Mr Joe Bloggs).
  • You will then be shown a list of customers with Bloggs in the name.
  • Select the prospect you wish to convert and click [Edit].
  • Click onto the "Sales Account" tab and select the "Account" field.
  • Press <Alt+F1> to create a customer account. This will automatically create the account code and fill in all the available details.
  • Complete any extra information you may have about the customer, such as the Country or Account Group if applicable.
  • Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the account information.

Creating from the customer search

It is possible to create the customer from prospect details whilst you are searching for an account. See here.
