Summary

This article will explain how to create a Landscape print record in Platinum so that any print outs you want to go to a windows Printer that is set to print in landscape orientation, prints correctly.

More Information

You will need to create a new print record for the Landscape printer. To do this follow the instructions here.

Now with the new print record created you will need to a set this to print to the Windows landscape printer. To do this follow the instructions here.

So far the set-up we have done for the new print record in Platinum has not been specific for a landscape printer. To do this we will need to alter the amount of lines that the print record prints out.

In Order to work out how many lines we need to first no the dimensions of a piece of A4 paper:

  • In millimetres is 297mm x 210mm, or
  • In inches is '11.7" x 8.3".

Printing is measure in lines per an inch and the standard is 6. As we know from the print record, printing in portrait the "Page length :" is "70" because 11.7 x 6 = 70.2 which has been rounded to 70. As we are wanting to print landscape we will need to multiply 8.3 by 6 which gives us 49.8, which we will round up to 50.

So on the newly created print record in Platinum:

  • Set the "Page length :" to '50'.
  • Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the changes.
  • Test print record with a landscape report and the length will print correctly.
