Creating a Standard Workshop Job

In order to create a Standard Workshop Job within Workshop you will need to be able to create a new workshop job, fill in as much generic information, parts and labour that will be essential to complete the job.

Adding Details to a Standard Workshop Job

• To create a Workshop job, go to "Workshop Management" -> "Workshop Diary".
• This will show the "Workshop Diary" and currently have today's date highlighted.
• A this point you will need to create a new workshop job.

It is Important that the account information is left blank, else each time the Standard job is loaded it will be assigned to the same keeper and invoice account.

Adding Parts to the Standard Workshop Job

• Once you are happy with the information entered, it is time to add parts.

Only add the parts that are standard for the job in question. Do not add specific parts that cannot be used for a different make or model, unless the Particular job is solely for one type of vehicle.

Please be aware that any Invoice parts saved to a standard workshop job will be removed out of stock when the template is loaded back up. You can avoid this by saving Estimate items, which you may then transfer to the Invoice side once the standard job is loaded, checking stock levels along the way.

Adding Labour to the Standard Workshop Job

• Once you are happy with the parts added, it is time to add labour to the workshop job. This is only a guidance and the actual amount of hours can be altered at a later date.

Saving a Workshop Standard Job

Now that you have created a workshop job added parts and labour, as well as adding extra information on the workshop job for the technician it is time to save as a Standard Workshop Job. To be used time and time again.

• In the "Workshop Job Properties" screen, on the "Description line" press <F8>.
• This will Bring up a screen called "Standard jobs".
• On the "Reference:" Enter the Standard Job code.

The standard job notes for new standard jobs will default to the brief description of the job you invoked this pop-up from, if the applicable system parameter has been set.

• Leave "Update Prices:" set to 'Yes'. This will change the prices of parts on the Standard Workshop job, if they have been changed on the system when you come to re-load the Standard Job.
• Press <Esc>.
• On the confirmation screen click [Yes] to save the Standard Workshop Job.
