Summary

This article explains how to configure the criteria or tasks which must be undertaken (such as cleaning the unit) in order for a unit to become "Handover Ready" in the " Unit Handovers" option. The criteria will appear as additional columns in the list of units to hand over to the customer.

More Information

Units: Unit is a general term used to cover all types of vehicle and machinery, including items such as motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks, vans, caravans, motorhomes, boats, tractors, ATVs, agricultural equipment, wholegoods and construction equipment.

Configuration

  • Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Module Settings Unit Sales Handover Settings".

There are two sets of handover criteria, one for new units and one for used units. If you are creating a task which must be done for both types of unit, you must enter it in each set.

Creating a Compulsory Criterion/Task

A compulsory criterion/task is one that must always be done before a unit can be handed over to the customer.

  • On an empty space in one of the sets of criteria, press <Shift+F10>.
  • At "Unit Feature", enter a three character code for the criterion/task.
  • At "Description", enter a description for the criterion/task. This will be used as the column heading in the " Unit Handovers" option.
  • Move to the [Settings] tab.
  • At "Category", enter 'VHC'. You should see 'Unit Handover Compulsory' as the description of the "Category".
  • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the changes. Your new compulsory criterion/task will now appear in the set of criteria.

Creating an Optional Criterion/Task

An optional criterion/task is one that must only be done if it has been requested or paid for by the customer.

Pay attention, now you need to create a unit feature within a unit feature!

  • At "Link", press <Shift+F10>.
  • At "UNit Feature", enter a three character code for the "criterion/task has been requested".
  • At "Description", enter a description that describes that the criterion/task has been requested or paid for by the customer.
  • Move to the [Settings] tab.
  • At "Category", enter 'VHE'. You should see 'Unit Handover Enabler' as the description of the "Category".
  • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the changes.

And now we are back to the original unit feature!

  • At "Category", enter 'VHO'. You should see 'Unit Handover Optional' as the description of the "Category".
  • Press <Esc> and [Accept] the changes. Your new optional criterion/task will now appear in the set of criteria.
