Summary
When printing and posting transactions in currency, Platinum converts values using the exchange rate as set for that day.
This article explains how a user can override the default rate for a period of time using a session rate.
More Information
The exchange rate can be updated in Reports & Settings. This rate is then applied to all transactions until the time it is amended.
To override this rate e.g. to post a Purchase Invoice at a specific rate, you may enter a session rate.
Once entered a session rate is then applied to all currency transactions made by your user until you either change the session rate to zero i.e. disabling it, or you log out of Platinum. |
- Wherever you wish to apply the session rate press <Alt+E>.
- Within the [Currency convertor] window the "System Rate" is displayed on the right of the screen.
- Enter the rate you wish to use in the "Session rate" field on the left of the screen.
- Make sure the rate is to convert the currency displayed in the "From" field to the currency in the "To" field.
Revert to default rate
To revert to the rate as set in Reports & Settings, you can either log out of Platinum then log back in again or, ensuring you are on a value field, press <Alt+E>.
- In the "Session rate" field enter 0 to remove the rate.
- Press <Enter> and <Esc>.
