Summary
This article will explain the two different methods of assigning a vehicle type to a vehicle, the article will also demonstrate how to show only a particular type of vehicle.
Additional Information
Assigning Vehicle Types individually to a Vehicle
The first method is to assign the Vehicle type against an individual vehicle. To do this you will need to go to " Vehicle Sales Add or Edit Vehicles".
- Search for the vehicle record which you want to assign a type to in the "Search On:" and press <F2> or click the [Search] button.
- Press <F5> or click the [Edit] button to edit the "Vehicle Properties".
- In "Vehicle Properties" on the [Vehicle] tab, in the "Status" section there is a ""Vehicle type:"" field. Set this to the type 'vehicle' you want.
- Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the changes.
This method is quick to set-up and overrides all other settings for the "Vehicle type". Unfortunately using this method will mean you can not search for a particular type of vehicle. |
Assigning Vehicles Types via Location
The second method is the "Catalyst" preferred method of assigning vehicle type to a vehicle. This method will be using the vehicles location. To assign the "Vehicle Type" you will need to go to " Vehicle Sales Add or Edit Vehicles".
- Search for the vehicle record which you want to assign a type to in the "Search On:" and press <F2> or click the [Search] button.
- Press <F5> or click the [Edit] button to edit the "Vehicle Properties".
- In "Vehicle Properties" on the [Vehicle] tab, in the "Status" section there is a ""Location :"" field.
- Select this press <Shift+F10> to enter the "Vehicle Location Properties".
- Click on the [Parameters] tab and set the "Vehicle type :" to they type you want.
- Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the changes to the location.
- Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the changed to the vehicle record.
This method requires multiple locations to be set-up for the various different type of vehicles that you stock. However this method means you can show different types in the system. |
How do I show just a particular type of vehicles
As mentioned previously if you set-up your vehicle types by the "Catalyst" preferred method (using vehicle locations.) it is possible to list a particular type of vehicle you have in stock. To Do this you will need to go to " Vehicle Sales Vehicle Enquiries".
- On the "Status :" select your 'In Stock' status.
- On the "Location :" set this to the 'Location' that corresponds to the Vehicle type you are wanting to see.
- Press <F2> to run the report, which will list all the vehicles assigned to this location.
- To see the details of a vehicle <Arrow Key Down (↓)> to the selected vehicle and press <F2> to see the vehicle properties.
