It is possible to set a default location for vehicles created whilst adding a workshop job.   If no default has been set then the user will be prompted to enter the location information at the time of creating the vehicle.  All of these defaults can be overwritten at the time of creating the vehicle.

There are three levels of default; the site default, the user default and the system default.  The site default is the highest of these and will overwrite the other default workshop vehicle locations.  The user level default will overwrite the system level default but not the site default.  If the site default is spaces then the user default will be used.  If the user default is spaces and the site default is spaces then the system default will be used.

Summary

It is possible to set a default location for vehicles created whilst adding a workshop job. If no default has been set then the user will be prompted to enter the location information at the time of creating the vehicle. All of these defaults can be overwritten at the time of creating the vehicle.

There are three levels of default; the site default, the user default and the system default. The site default is the highest of these and will overwrite the other default workshop vehicle locations. The user level default will overwrite the system level default but not the site default. If the site default is spaces then the user default will be used. If the user default is spaces and the site default is spaces then the system default will be used.

Site Default

Go to "Reports & Parameters" -> "Maintenance Options" -> "System Administrator" -> "Site File Maintenance".

  • Select the site whose default you want to change.
  • Select page 5 and for "Workshop vehicle site:" enter the default location for that site.

User Default

Go to "Reports & Parameters" -> "Maintenance Options" -> "System Administrator" -> "User Maintenance".

  • Select the user whose default you want to change.
  • Select page 10 and for "Workshop vehicle site:" enter the default location for that user.

System Default

Go to "Vehicle Sales" -> "Maintenance Options" -> "Parameters" -> "Vehicle Defaults".

  • For "Workshop vehicle site:" enter the system default location.
