Using the media managers in Platinum Online

Summary

This article explains the features available in each of the " Image Managers" in Platinum Online.

Default Image

The default image in the list is indicated by a star icon. To change the default image, first tap or click once on an image, then click the star button that appears.

Available in the Vehicle, Stock and Workshop Image Managers.

Published Flag

A tick icon in the bottom right corner indicates that an image is to be published (to Catalyst FindIt, for example). To toggle whether an image is to be published or not, first tap or click once on an image, then click the tick button that appears.

Available in the Vehicle and Stock Image Managers.

Delete Image

To delete an image, first tap or click once on an image, then click the X button that appears.

Available in all of the Image Managers.

Reordering Images

You can reorder images using drag and drop. Simply use your mouse or your finger on a touch screen to drag an image to a new location in the list and the image order is automatically updated.

Available in all of the Image Managers.

Adding Signatures

You can add signatures using your finger or a stylus in both Platinum Online and Platinum Mobile. To add a signature, tap on [Add Signature] at the end of the list of images in Platinum Online, or [Add Signature...] underneath [Add Photos...] in Platinum Mobile. This will open a new screen with a large box where you can enter a signature, and a few other fields:

  • The dropdown above the signature box allows you to choose some text describing what is being signed for. See below for how to add your own disclaimers and set per-module defaults.
  • "Name" is for recording who is signing.
  • "Date" is prefilled with today's date and time.

To clear the signature and start over, press [Clear] at the bottom right of the signature box. When you are happy that everything is correct, press [Send] to upload the signature to your Platinum system.

Adding Signature Disclaimers / Types

You can add your own custom disclaimers and have them appear in the dropdown on the Add Signature screen as follows:

  1. Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Groups, Types and Categories Add or Edit Signature Types".
  2. Press <F6> or [Add].
  3. In "Signature type", enter the code for the disclaimer.
  4. In "Description", enter a brief description for the disclaimer.
  5. Press <Esc> then [Accept] to accept your changes.

The new disclaimer will appear in Platinum Online & Platinum Mobile the next time you log in. If you are already logged in, you will need to log out and back in again.

Setting the Default Signature Disclaimer / Type

You can set a default disclaimer that will be selected automatically for each module with an Image Manager in Platinum Online.

  1. Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Platinum Settings".
  2. Search for 'signature'.
  3. Find the module you want to set a default for, and press <F5> on Default signature type.
  4. Enter the code of the disclaimer you want to be the default selected option, or alternatively press <Ctrl+F1> to search for a disclaimer if you don't know the code.
  5. Press <OK>, then <Esc> and accept your changes.

The new default disclaimer will be set in Platinum Online & Platinum Mobile the next time you log in. If you are already logged in, you will need to log out and back in again.
