Summary
The following article explains what you should do if HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) request an Earlier Year Update (EYU).
More Information
You would be contacted by HMRC to produce an EYU if they have incorrect data for a previous tax year (2012-2013 and later tax years). You can only use an EYU for the tax years where you operated a Pay As You Earn scheme in real time.
If you are contacted by HMRC to produce an EYU, you will need to go to the following website http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/payerti/reporting/errors/previous-year.htm#3 for instructions on how to produce one as currently Platinum does not feature a EYU.
