Details

This menu option (available by pressing the <Alt+O> key) will look at the data where the cursor is on and try and open the document relating to the text found there.

  • If you are on an email address (e.g. support@catalyst-uk.com) then your email package will be started with the 'To:' address field filled in.
  • If you are on a website address (e.g. www.catalyst-uk.com) then your web browser is started to view that site.
  • If you are on address field and have access to the internet the post code is used to bring up a web site with a street map for that post code.
  • If none of the above apply, starting with the word your cursor is on and then starting from the beginning of your text, Platinum will try and find a document that matches each word in your text. When found it will launch the application to view that document.
For example if you are on a text field and the cursor is on a picture filename 'bike.jpg', if Platinum finds 'bike.jpg' in your 'Data Paths' (Set up from "Reports and Parameters" -> "System Administrator") then your picture viewer will be launched for 'bike.jpg'.
