Why can't I edit the purchase details on a sold unit?

This article will explain the reasons why you may not be able to edit the information on the [Purchase] tab of a sold vehicle.

More Information

There are a few reasons why the information on the [Purchase] tab of a vehicle may not be editable.

Security

  • Your user security settings do not allow you to edit Purchase information on sold vehicles.
  • Your user parameters do not allow you to edit the [Purchase] tab of a vehicle.

This can be checked on your user parameters in the "Vehicle Sales Security" and "Vehicle Sales User Screens" sections.

You may not have access to " User Maintenance". If this is the case then you will need to get your on-site system administrator to check for you or allow you access.

Part Exchanges

  • The vehicle was created as a part exchange vehicle. Platinum locks the [Purchase] tab of all part exchange vehicles so that these cannot be edited from outside the vehicle sales order to prevent changes being made that would then not show correctly on the sales order.
