This article explains why items on entry screens sometimes show in a different colour.

More Information

Some items show in the "Mandatory" colour (usually red). This is telling you that these items are mandatory and need to be filled in before you are able to continue. The following is a list of screens and items with explanations on what makes them mandatory.

Stock Properties

  • "Standard Cost Price" - There is an option in the parameters to make this mandatory.

Unit Properties

  • [Unit]"Location" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Unit]"Status" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Warranty]"Supplier" - This becomes mandatory if the "Warranty start" and "Warranty end" dates are set.
  • [Purchase]"Supplier" - This becomes mandatory if there has been a purchase invoice raised for this unit and the details about the purchase have been changed.

Workshop Properties

  • [Job]"Invoice acc." - This is always mandatory.
  • [Job]"Depot" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Job]"Received date" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Job]"Started date" - This is always mandatory.

Logistics Job Properties

  • [Job]"Customer" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Job]"Date" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Amounts]"Centre" - It is mandatory to have at least one centre set.

  • [Description] - This is always mandatory.

Sales Prospect Properties

  • [Prospect]"Name" - This is always mandatory.

Payroll Employee Properties

  • [General]"Surname" - This is always mandatory.
  • [General]"Forenames" - This is always mandatory.
  • [General]"Address" - The first two lines are always mandatory. The third line is mandatory if it is a UK address.
  • [General]"Date started" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Tax, NI and Pension]"Tax code" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Tax, NI and Pension]"Effective from" - This is mandatory if a new "Tax code" has been entered.
  • [Tax, NI and Pension]"NI rate" - This is always mandatory.
  • [Tax, NI and Pension]"Effective from" - This is mandatory if a new "NI rate" has been entered.
  • [Tax, NI and Pension]"Date appointed" - This is mandatory if "Company director" is 'Yes'.
