Summary

Periodically, BMW will send you an updated Parts File. The procedure for importing this into Platinum is outlined below.

More Information

Initial Set-up

The first time you obtain a Parts File from BMW, there a few initial steps that you must carry out to configure Platinum.

  • Download the Data Import '.Zip' file, unzip the contents to an easily locatable place. eg 'Desktop'.
  • This process will save out 2 files:
    • 'IMPORT.IMP' - This needs importing into the Data Import Module within Platinum. See here for details how to do this.
    • 'BMW-IM.BAT' - This file needs saving into the SXUtils folder within the Platinum directory structure.

Importing the Parts File

  • BMW send you a compressed file called 'dttf58.stk.z'. This will need uncompressing by using a suitable program such as Winzip or Winrar.
  • Once uncompressed, copy the e.g. 'dttf58.stk (2)' file to the 'SXCo1' folder within the Platinum directory structure. NOTE: It is assumed here that 'SXCo1' is the folder of your LIVE company. If you are unsure which is your live company, Contact your Platinum dealer or our support team on 0116 230 1500 or by using our website support contact page
  • The e.g. 'dttf58.stk (2)' file will then need to be renamed to 'dttf58.stk' file to work with the data import in the next stage.
  • To run the import, go to " Systems Data Import" and type 'BMW' into the template code box. Do not press <Enter>.
  • Press <F2> from the Template Code box to run the import.
