How can I change the wording on my SMS messages?

This article will explain how you can edit a the standard SMS text that gets sent out from Platinum. For example : Workshop SMS text message that the customers' vehicle is ready for collection.

The contents of the Message that gets sent out as part the standard text can be edited to output how you would like it to read. In order to change the wording in the text you will need to:

• Click on " Messages" at the top of Platinum on the task bar.
• Click on " SMS Messaging" and go to " Manage Messages".
• On "Filter on :" enter a search for the message you want to edit and press <Enter>. For example: 'Collection'.
  • This will bring up the Name of the message in the left box of the screen.
• Click on [Edit] or press <F5>.
• This will bring up all the details of the stored Standard text message. To alter the wording on the text you will need to:
  • Set the "Text source:" to 'Fixed text'.
  • This will change the display and you will now have a section to enter your "Message:".
    • Simply enter the text that you would like to appear against the "Message:", the system will word wrap the text onto the lines if it is to wide for the line you are.

      Changing this to Fixed text will mean that it is simply text and would not have details of the customer or the vehicle.

  • Once happy with the wording simply click on [Done].
• Click [Accept] to save the changes.
