Summary
The following article will explain how to prompt the user to enter contact details if they have not already been entered against the account.
More Information
Within each account in Platinum there are fields for the Mobile and Email address, when an account is created if these fields are not filled in the system can prompt the user to enter the information or provide a reason for not entering the details.
Encouraging Data Collection
To enable this feature go to " Reports & Parameters Maintenance Options System Administrator System Parameters".
- Press <Page-Down> to move to Page 6 - Utilities.
- Change "Encourage Contact Data" to 'Y'.
- Press <Esc> to exit from the System Parameters.
Reviewing Data Collection Log
If the user does not enter details into Mobile or Email field when creating a new account they will be prompted to enter the details on exiting the account. If again the user does not enter details into the Mobile or Email field they will have to enter a reason for not providing the details in the "Why not set" field.
To review the log open '<Platinum Installation Drive>\SX\SXCo1\CONTACT.LOG'. This file will show the Computer, User, Account Code and Name Created and the reason provided for not entering the details.
