This article explains how to create a new unit manufacturer.

More Information

Units: Unit is a general term used to cover all types of vehicle and machinery, including items such as motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks, vans, caravans, motorhomes, boats, tractors, ATVs, agricultural equipment, wholegoods and construction equipment.

Go to " Unit Sales Maintenance Options Add or Edit Manufacturers".

  • Click [Add] or press <F6> to create a new manufacturer.
  • In the "Manufacturer" field, enter the new manufacturer code. This can be anything up to 3 characters long.
  • In the "Description" field, enter a suitable description for the manufacturer.
  • To set the unit service defaults for this manufacturer, click on the [Settings] tab and set the "Service months" value to the expected service interval. If this field is left at 0, it will look at the system defaults for service intervals.
  • If you want to set the first service interval after the unit sale, enter a value in the "New unit" and/or "Used unit" fields.
  • Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the new manufacturer.
