Summary

The following article explains how you can set a particular Platinum program to print to a specific print record. For example, you may want to print workshop invoices to a colour printer rather than your default one.

More Information

First of all you will need the printer to be installed on the computer you are working on. Either do this yourself or Contact your Platinum dealer or our sales team on 0116 230 1500 or by using our website sales contact page and they will be able to quote you for the time taken to install it for you.

Once the printer is installed you will need to do the following:

Creating the Print Record

  • Follow this article on creating new print records.

Telling Platinum to use your new print record

Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options Systems Administrator Security & Print Configuration".

  • Press <F3> to get to an empty line, i.e. the line below the last entry in the list.
  • In the "Program" field, press <Ctrl+F1> to bring up a search window.
  • In the "Filter On:" field, type in a search word for the program you are looking for, for example, if you wanted to find the program that produces a workshop invoice, you would type "document" and press [Search].
All Platinum programs start with 'SXP' followed by the module, so 'ST' for Stock Control, 'VS' for Unit Sales and 'WS' for Workshop etc.
If you require help in finding the correct program, please Contact your Platinum dealer or our support team on 0116 230 1500 or by using our website support contact page.
  • When you have located the correct program, get your cursor across to the columns labelled "Print Records" and enter in the number of the print record you created in the section above in both columns.
  • Click [Exit] to save your changes.
  • Press <Esc> to exit out of the Settings.
  • The next time you print the relevant document it will now print to the new print record you have set up.
