Summary

This article explains how to set up your vehicle stock so that it can be uploaded to Auto Trader.

More Information

In order for your vehicles to be uploaded from Platinum to Auto Trader, you will need to have your Platinum up-to-date as of 28/01/10.

What to do in Platinum

Make sure that vehicles have the following details filled in for them to be eligible to be uploaded to Auto Trader:

  • Manufacturer
  • Model Description
  • Colour
  • Registration Date or Build Year
  • Mileage
  • Price

You will need to make sure that in " Add or Edit Vehicles", the "Auto Trader" flag is ticked on the [Web Publishing] tab.

The Upload to Auto Trader will also include the Vehicle Pictures that are stored on the vehicle details in Platinum.

Remember: You must enter your DealerEdit ID into Platinum before this will work. Go to " Unit Sales Maintenance Options Parameters Web Publishing".

What to do out of Platinum

Go through your vehicle stock and made sure the criteria above are all filled in and that the "Auto Trader" flag has been enabled. Platinum on a daily basis will upload to Catalyst-FindIt. When this upload runs, it will create a file called VSWEBDEO.CSV which is stored in the VS folder stored in the Pics folder within your Platinum company Folder, e.g. 'P:\SX\SXCo1\Pics\VS\VSWEBDEO.CSV.'

If you have not done so already, you will need to contact Auto Trader support and make sure that they have given you the ability to import a file to their Web Portal.

  • From this point you will need to leave Platinum and go to the Web Portal for Auto Trader, which is http://www.Dealerportal.Autotrader.co.uk.
    1. Log in with the details sent to you by Auto Trader via email.
    2. Once logged into the portal, copy and paste this URL into the address bar http://stockimporter.autotrader.co.uk/.
    3. Select the "format type :" 'DMS 15 (single)'.
    4. Click the [Browse] button on the left of the page and locate the 'VSWEBDEO.CSV' file you wish to import (See above for the file location).
    5. Select the options that you wish to apply on the import from the options on the right-hand side of the page.
    6. Click the [Import] at the bottom of the page to complete the import of your stock.
If your vehicles are appearing on FindIt as they are in Platinum but there is a problem with them appearing on Auto Trader then you will need to click here.
