Summary

Unit Model Codes are used to store default information about a specific model of unit.

More Information

Units: Unit is a general term used to cover all types of vehicle and machinery, including items such as motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks, vans, caravans, motorhomes, boats, tractors, ATVs, agricultural equipment, wholegoods and construction equipment.

When you create a unit record you will be able to choose the model from a list of codes. The defaults for that model will populate various fields on the unit record; saving you time and ensuring continuity and clarity of information regardless of who creates the record.

The fields that you can pre-define include "Description", "Manufacturer", "Category of Unit", "Engine size", "Chassis Prefix and Suffix", "Supplier" and even available "colours".

Creating a New Model Code

Go to " Unit Sales Maintenance Options Add or Edit Models".

  • Click [Add].

Alternatively you may create a Model Code whilst creating a new unit record:

  • Go to " Unit Sales Add or Edit Units".
  • Click [Add].
  • Move down to the "Model" and press <Shift+F10>.
Follow these instructions to complete the unit record once you have created your new Model Code.

Model

Enter the Model Code then press <Enter>.

  • Enter the model "Description".
On each of the subsequent tabs, the more fields you complete the more information will be filled in as a unit record is created.

Defaults

Complete the fields with information relevant to the model you are creating.

New/Used

When creating a unit record fields will be populated from one of these two tabs, depending on whether it is a New or Used unit.

Colours

Type in a Colour and click [Add]. Repeat for as many as desired.

Features

Select any features to assign to the model and click [>>].

Sales text

Only enter text to apply to all units of this model. It should be fairly general. You may add or remove sales text on an individual unit record.

Library Media

Add any specific images, videos or other media for this model.

Once you have completed as many fields as you wish (the minimum you must enter is "Model Code") and "Model Description", press <Esc> and [Accept].

Option Packs

Whilst creating a Model you may add an Option Pack. You may link the pack to the specific model you are creating or leave the associated model list blank to allow any model to access the pack.

  • Select your model and click [Edit].
  • Press <F5> to open [Add or Edit Unit Option Packs].
  • Click [Add] to add a new Option pack.
  • Please see this article for further instructions.
